Gingerbread is an irresistible favorite, especially around the holidays. It’s that flavor combo of ginger, clove, nutmeg, cinnamon, and molasses that lights up our nostalgia taste buds like an overloaded Christmas tree. But traditional gingerbread cookie dough can be a challenge to make. It needs to chill for at least 3 hours! Who has time for that? And, creating a gingerbread house (even from a simple kit) often feels like an architectural engineering degree is required.
Instead, here are four recipe hacks that’ll satisfy your gingerbread fix.
1. Gingerbread Cookie Trees
Add a little molasses and some holiday spices to refrigerated sugar cookie dough—instant gingerbread! Then bake it like a giant cookie.
2. Gingerbread Cookie Faces
Use the same recipe from the first tip, but use these Emoji Cookie Cutters instead to create silly faces.
3. Gingerbread Truffles
Our Manual Food Processor works magic with cookies and cream cheese.
4. Mini Gingerbread Houses…(it’s actually cake!)
Whip up gingerbread cookie and cake mix and bake it in the Brownie Pan for about 30 minutes. Then decorate little square cakes like houses. Cut some cakes in half diagonally to make the rooftops!
